The Italy Earthquake Relief Fund Fundraiser

On May 12, Dr. Elaine Chin attended a fundraiser organized in support of The Italy Earthquake Relief Fund (TIERF) with her friend and co-chair of the event organizing committee, Sam Ciccolini. Sergio Marchionne delivered the keynote to a group of approximately 600 guests. In attendance was The Prime Minister, Mr. Justin Trudeau, who was supporting this cause.


The Corporate State Toronto

On May 17, 2017, Dr. Chin joined the “Emotional Dislocation” discussion at the Toronto Summit. The Summit was held at MaRS Discovery District in Toronto and included senior women business executives, women business owners, and women leaders in medicine, the arts, law, academe and government.

Innovation Health was the Health & Wellness Sponsor of the Summit.


Healthcare Innovation Panel

On April 26, Dr. Chin moderated the Healthcare Innovation Panel hosted by The Canadian Club.

Topics of discussion included how research, access, science & technology are revitalizing our healthcare experience. Dr. Brett Belchetz (ER Physician and Co-founder/CEO of Maple), Dr. Brendan Frey (Founder of Deep Genomics), and Dr. Peter Pisters (CEO of UHN) were on the panel. It was an engaging discussion on the disruption and innovation that is transforming the healthcare world today.

WE DAY New York

On April 6, 2017 Dr. Chin attended the New York City WE Day at Radio City Music Hall to support her friends, Marc and Craig Kielburger. The inaugural New York City event brought together world-renowned speakers, A-list performers, and tens of thousands of youth to celebrate a year of action that transformed communities and changed lives.

Aga Khan Museum Event

Dr. Elaine Chin hosted a small private dinner at The Aga Khan Museum to help showcase a world renowned exhibition that is currently at the Museum. Syria: A Living History is on display until March 26, 2017. This exhibition is in partnership with UNESCO and media partners, The Globe & Mail and CTV.

Syria: A Living History inspires new understanding of Syria’s past and present, and invites new ways of thinking about its future.’



Canadian Health and Wellness Innovations Conference

Dr. Elaine Chin spoke at the Canadian Health and Wellness Innovations Conference in Palm Springs, CA about IT-Based Wellness programs. These programs are in the midst of a paradigm shift, from a return on investment (ROI) to a value on investment (VOI) model. Personal Best: The Peak Health Sessions

Dr. Elaine Chin will attend this event and speak about The Economics of Healthcare & Healthcare trends during the Peak Health Sessions. She will be joined by others including, Greg Wells, Michael Appollo, Christopher Janzer and Nathalie Niddam, they will present on various topics.



5th Annual Canadian Food & Drink Summit 2016, Conference Board Of Canada

Dr. Elaine Chin, Chief Wellness Officer at TELUS, spoke on Nutrition in the Workplace: Fostering Health and Energy. In this session, she gave real-life case studies on how leading firms support healthy nutrition and well-being by providing healthy food options, education, health and nutrition counselling, and company-wide wellness challenges.


Telus Cheque Presentation to the Scarborough Hospital Foundation

MLSE Launchpad Campaign and Raps City Social

Dr. Elaine Chin sits on the MLSE LaunchPad Campaign Cabinet. By 2017, the MLSE Foundation will transform 261 Jarvis St. into a 42,000 sq ft youth focused Sport For Development facility. With the support of professional sports teams, this collaborative space will leverage sport, education and research to promote social change. MLSE LaunchPad will improve the lives of at-risk youth by instilling life skills to succeed wherever their journey takes them. November 3rdDr. Elaine Chin attended the Gold Medal Plates fundraising event in Toronto. A special congratulation to all the Canadian Olympic athletes for their athletic achievement! The Gold Medal Plates chefs did an amazing job on all their dishes. Congratulations to Amanda Ray (Canteen Restaurant) for winning gold, Albert Ponzo (Le Sélect Bistro) for winning silver and Ross Midgley (Ravine Estates Winery Restaurant) for winning bronze. Thanks to the other competitors as well: Wayne Morris (Boralia), Sylvain Assié (Café Boulud), Jonathan Goodyear (Magna Golf Club), Ted Corrado (The Drake Hotel), Nicolas Comazzi (Aria Ristorante), Rocheller Batuigas (Café Belong).

Speaker Series at the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club

Dr. Elaine Chin spoke at The Cricket Club’s Health & Wellness Keynote speaker series. There was a great turnout. Thank you to The Cricket Club for being so welcoming, always happy to support neighbours in the community.


Gairdner Foundation Awards

Dr. Elaine Chin, Chief Wellness Officer, TELUS, attended the Gairdner Awards with team members. Congratulations to the 2016 winners of the Gairdner Award. 60% of winners go on to win The Nobel Prize. Thanks to TELUS for being a silver sponsor.


WE Day Family Reception

Dr. Elaine Chin hosted a pre-WE Day Family event. There was a gallery exhibit of portraits by Tony V. Hauser, a documentary from their recent trip to Ecuador by Robert Wong and special speech and visit from Marc Kielburger, Co-Founder of WE, and Scott Baker, Executive Director of WE Charity.
